Twenga - Next Generation Shopping Search Engine

logo-betaWe all want to save time and money when we are shopping. Do you know that a shopping search engine can help you? Check out Twenga, a next generation shopping search engine that uses a proprietary crawl technology to aggregate merchant offers.

Twenga’s shopping search engine focuses on lifestyle products, including: Fashion; Gifts; Health - Beauty; Gardening; Household Appliances; Computers; Audio/Video; Sports; Photo; and more. Twenga has a nice and clean homepage where you can find the most popular products such as digital cameras, mobile phones, PDAs, etc. You can search merchants by product, brand, or just browse the catalog. The product catalog and the search tool bar are located on a convenient spot on the webpage.

To better review the site, I tried all their search functions. Below is an example for searching by key word “digital photo frame”, which shows 1-30 of 199 items found from 66 shops. The search results can be sorted by relevance, price, TwengaScore or popularity. You can further narrow the results by using a filter button or choosing a category or a brand. If you click “See Offer”, Twenga will direct you to the store for more detailed information and transition will be completed on the site of the store. You can also register for a free Twenga membership to receive price alerts to monitor your favorite products and get an email when price drops.

Overall, I am happy with my Twenga shopping search experience. I like their clear layout and user-friendly navigation and search tools. It would be a plus if Twenga could provide a way for consumers to search for items similar to the one that interests them. The function of tracking and storing customers’ searching behavior would be another value-added feature. Thanks Twenga for sponsoring this review and I wish Twenga a promising future.
