Bausch & Lomb ReNu Contact Lens Solution Recall

On March 6, 2007, Bausch & Lomb recalled over 1 million bottles of ReNu MultiPlus contact lens solution from distribution centers and retail shelves in the United States and specific other countries because they contain an elevated level of trace iron. Fortunately, no users reported adverse effects from trace iron contamination which may reduce effectiveness over time. If my memory is correct, it is not the first ReNu Contact Lens Solution Recall. I used to wear Bausch & Lomb contact lenses, but I switched to another brand last year. I even considered Lasik eye surgery because being near-sighted is so inconvenient in my daily life. Check out what you use and visit the above link for more information. This post is brought to you by USA Eyes.

This latest recall was just because a few batches of solution were not quite up to the high B&L standards. The recalled solution does not pose a health risk in any way. Shame on USA Eyes for trying to sully the reputation of a fine American Company.
